How do I sign up for games and events?
The event schedule is available online so preregistered attendees can plan their time at UberCon in advance. If you preregister online, you can reserve your spot on any game or event with a simple click. Once you log in to ubercon.com, you can click on the "Register Now" link next to any event to preregister for it. It's that simple.

Once you're at the convention, a pen and paper signup sheet will be available for every game and event in the room where the event will be run. Go to that room. Check the list for empty spots and sign up if spots remain.

I have a suggestion for how you can do _________.
We are constantly learning and adapting, and welcome your suggestions or comments. Feel free to submit them via our contact form.

I only want to LARP. Is there a LARP-only badge?
Sadly, our largest event (1,227 people) had only three (3) purchase a LARP only badge. Due to the security-intensive nature of this, we have decided to discontinue them.

I've never attended a gaming convention. What should I expect?
As our online schedule indicates, there are lots of entertainment choices every hour of the day. You'll keep yourself busy, and have a lot of fun doing it. You will experience new things - new games, new people, new activities, new films.

Ok, so you know it will be fun. How does it all work? Read on - answers to other questions explain quite a bit!

In the event of a blizzard, what happens?
Funny that you ask that... being snowed in a nice hotel with tons of games, computers, consoles, and fun people really isn't that bad... :) (See our UberCon I photo gallery to see several photos of snow).

What do I do when I arrive at UberCon?
When you arrive at UberCon, you will head to registration. If you purchased your badge online, you will receive your UberCon badge. If not, you'll purchase UberCon admission at this time. You'll also receive a goodie bag which includes the UberCon Program and other freebies. (NOTE: The event schedule is available ONLINE as well, so you can plan your time at UberCon in advance!)

What should I bring to UberCon?
While this list isn't all-inclusive, here are some suggested items to bring:
  • Costume for the Costume Contest
  • Digital Camera for the Digital Photo Scavenger Hunt when they are scheduled
  • Dice
  • Measuring tape (for miniatures games)
  • Paper (better yet, a notebook) and pen
  • Cash for vending machines/restaurants (an ATM is available in the hotel)
  • ID (drivers license or state ID)

Who the heck is Vlad??
Vladimir the Dragon is the mascot of UberCon! He's blue, he's big, and he enjoys all types of games and related mischief.

Where did Vlad Come From?
UberCon GM Kevin Jagh is a fan of fantasy artist Phil Foglio. While planning UberCon I, Kevin contacted Phil and they worked to develop our logo and the cover for the UberCon I program.

Basically, we asked Phil for a mascot. He came up with something typically laden with testosterone (and tentacles of course). We came back saying, "um, well... this is nice... but... we need something more huggable. Oh, it has to be smart. Oh, and powerful. Oh, and I like dragons. And it should be striking. Did I mention cute? Oh, and loyal." Phil came back with the blue dragon now known as Vladimir.

What is his personality?
Vlad is slightly arrogant, protective, smart, powerful, clearly a dragon, and chagrined when he loses (possibly enough to eat the little guy on the first edition cover). He reminds us quite a bit of Hobbes from the legendary comic strip.

What does he do?
He sits around obviously eating too much, playing games of course. Mostly he wins, but occasionally he is humbled. He also flirts, but not necessarily successfully. He's constantly bumbling along with plans for world domination, and is more often thwarted by tripping over his tail than with a planning or execution. As with conventions, Vladimir knows he is one Dragon amongst many, but feels that he is uniquely qualified to provide such organized, comprehensive and entertaining competition to so many people world wide.

Why should I buy my UberCon badge before the con?
  1. Receive access to MyUberCon, where you can reserve your spot for games and events all weekend long
  2. Preregistration speeds up your entry into UberCon
  3. Group Discounts are available via preregistration (groups of 6 or more)

Will you have __________ game?
Possibly, if you provide us enough time and there is enough demand during reregistration, we will certainly try to accommodate your specific interests. You can contact us via our contact form.
